AmpQuote

iCloud sync and your devices

How your records sync between iPhone and iPad through your own iCloud account, what the iCloud notices mean, and number conflicts.

How sync works

If you're signed in to iCloud, AmpQuote syncs your records through your own iCloud account to your other devices signed in to the same Apple Account. We can't see them. AmpQuote works fully offline and syncs when a connection is back.

Moving to a new iPhone or iPad

  1. Sign in to the same iCloud account on the new device.
  2. Install AmpQuote and open it. Your records sync down.
  3. If you subscribe, tap Restore Purchases if Pro doesn't show straight away.

The iCloud notice in Settings

  • “Your records sync through your own iCloud account.”: everything's working.
  • “iCloud is off, so your records are stored only on this device.”: sign in to iCloud in the Settings app to back up and sync. Nothing is lost when you do.
  • “iCloud sync couldn't start…”: records are saved on this device and sync when iCloud is available again.

“Number used on another device”

If you create quotes or invoices on two devices while both are offline, they can get the same number. After syncing, the document that got the number first keeps it. The other one shows Number used on another device, and the Home screen shows Number conflict after sync.

  1. Open the flagged document.
  2. Tap Renumber before sending it again.

Possible duplicate clients

If the same client was added on two devices, see Add and manage clients.
